STUPID
Q: What can I do to not waste time? A: Experience time in the longness of time. —— Albert Camus This is how Stuart and Peter experience the impermanence of the everyday amidst the disorder of the individual and the disorder of the world. This project originated during the period of pandemic isolation, when our daily lives were reduced to staying at home, eating, and watching TV, existing in a state we often describe as becoming “couch potatoes.” Time stretched and repeated itself, marked more by routine than by events. After the pandemic, we chose to record this extended stretch of ordinary time. Rather than constructing a complete narrative, the film focuses on fragments of everyday life. Through these moments, we reflect on the idea that not all actions need meaning, and that much of life is made up of repetition, stillness, and seemingly insignificant experiences.
