Companion
This short film offers a delicate, poetic glimpse into the life of Ali Zahedi, a fisherman
from the island of Hormuz, and his extraordinary bond with his pigeon, Ghanbar. Raised
by Ali three years ago, Ghanbar accompanies him every evening, flying freely alongside
Ali as he rides his motorcycle through the island’s roads.
This unexpected companionship between man and bird has emerged quietly from daily
routine, becoming part of the island’s natural rhythm. Without performance or spectacle,
their shared movement draws the attention of passersby and visitors, inspiring
admiration through its simplicity and authenticity.
Filmed without narration or direct intervention, the film captures a fleeting moment of
connection—where loyalty, freedom, and coexistence unfold in a single, continuous
gesture.
