Das Filmfest SH bemüht sich inhaltlich wie in der Organisation und Durchführung um Diversität, Teilhabe und Inklusion (Barrierefreiheit, wo möglich) sowie Nachhaltigkeit. Das Filmfest SH fördert den freiheitlich-demokratischen Diskurs und wendet sich gegen jegliche Form der Diskriminierung, namentlich Sexismus, Rassismus, Kolorismus, Diskriminierung aufgrund der sexuellen Orientierung, Antisemitismus, Muslimfeindlichkeit, Faschismus, Altersdiskriminierung, Behindertenfeindlichkeit und andere und/oder intersektionale Formen der Diskriminierung.
Als vielfach von Ehrenamtlichen organisiertes und durchgeführtes Festival ist eine arbeitsgerechte Entlohnung nicht immer möglich. Das Filmfest SH bemüht sich im Rahmen seiner finanziellen Möglichkeiten dennoch darum.

The Filmfest SH strives for diversity, participation, and inclusion (accessibility where possible), as well as sustainability, both in its content and in the organization and execution of the festival. Filmfest SH promotes a liberal-democratic discourse and stands against all forms of discrimination, including but not limited to sexism, racism, colorism, discrimination based on sexual orientation, antisemitism, anti-Muslim sentiment, fascism, age discrimination, ableism, and other and/or intersectional forms of discrimination.
As a festival largely organized and carried out by volunteers, fair compensation is not always possible. However, within its financial means, Filmfest SH makes every effort to ensure fair remuneration.
